We first met back in 2022 at Broadway Church. At the time, we were more like acquaintances—or honestly, strangers. We’d see each other often at church but never really talked, though we’d sometimes find ourselves smiling or laughing at each other’s jokes in group settings.

Eventually, we were both invited to help out in the youth ministry, and that’s when we really started to get to know each other. As we served together, we witnessed one another’s heart for God and for others. So as we grew closer in our friendship, we secretly crushed on each other—so much so that even our friends noticed before we said anything!

Then on June 2nd of last year, we had our (very rainy) first date at Island 22. Despite the weather—and a few nervous moments—we both showed up with open hearts. What surprised us most was how something so simple could mark the start of something so beautiful. From that day on, we grew closer with every conversation and slowly built the foundation of a relationship that has become one of our greatest blessings.

This past year has been filled with gentleness, kindness, and so much grace toward one another. Dating and being engaged has truly been a sweet season of learning and growing together. Now, we’re looking forward to an even deeper and more selfless journey—marriage. A covenant to honour God and a promise to always choose each other through every joy and challenge, for all the days of our lives.

And we’re SO looking forward to celebrating with you all as we begin this new chapter in our story.
